"How do I find the phone card with the cheapest
rates?"
Answer: An easy and quick way is to use the
“Select-a-Country” phone card finder on the top right of the Home
page. Select the country you are calling and Ephonecards will
display a list of phone cards with the best prices available for your
specific circumstances.
"What other costs are there besides the call
rates?"
Answer: The components that determine the
cost of a call are the country call rate (peak or off peak),
connection or flag-fall fees, billing increments. A “connection
fee”, is a fee charged by the telephone company for every call that
'connects'. As an example, Telstra’s connection fee for every STD or
international call is 35c and they use 1 second billing increments.
Some phone cards charge a connection fee. This generally allows
the phone card to provide a lower per minute rate. You should use
these phone cards if you make lots of long calls (eg: Ring, OzCall,
Happy Calling). Phone cards with no connection fee are better for short calls
(DayBreak, Go Talk).
Certain phone cards have one fixed (24 hour) call rate others
have peak and off-peak rates. The fixed rate means whatever time you
call the rate is the same. Other phone cards charge more during peak
hours (9am-6pm) and less during off-peak hours.
Occasionally phone cards have a surcharge for calling overseas to
a mobile phone. For more details check “More Phone Card Info”
for each phone card.
"Will my phone card expire?"
Answer: Generally phone cards expire between
three months and twelve months after they are first used. Check the
“More Phone Card Info”
section of each phone card on the site.
"Can the call rates change during the life of
my card?"
Answer: Generally phone cards have the
right to change their rates any time they want without any notice.
They don’t often change them and we keep our rate tables
current. You can check with the phone card company by calling their
customer service number to be certain.
"How and when do I get my phone card?"
Answer: Your phone card and PIN number are
delivered to you by email immediately after purchase within 10-30 secs of ordering. You can buy
and get your phone cards online 24 hours a day. If you pay by Direct Deposit your card is sent when the funds are received by us.
FIRST ORDER: On your first order we call you to confirm and activate your account and then send your phone card through after account verification. This is to provide you with the maximum security and confidence in your online transaction. We make every effort to contact you within half an hour of placing your first order.
"What do I do if I lose my PIN number?"
Answer: Don’t worry if you lose your PIN
number. Your PIN numbers are stored in your account online.
"What payment methods can I use?"
Answer: You can pay using all main credit card, direct
deposit, or internet banking transfers. If you have any difficulty
send us an email we’ll sort it out for you.
"Are my credit cards details absolutely
secure?"
Answer: Completely!
We take this very seriously. Our site uses secure SSL encryption and
we don’t keep any credit card details on the server.
"What does “Your account is being verified”
mean?"
Answer: We authenticate your account details after you sign-up and call you. So expect to hear from us. We go to the extra effort of physically verifying your contact details to provide you with added protection and security. Our phone cards are sent by email and often customers accidentally type the wrong email address. Also there is a higher incidence of identity theft and credit card fraud on the Internet. We eliminate this threat to all our customers by our comprehensive verification process to ensure a secure online shopping experience for you.
"Why have I been charged 75c for a refund?"
Answer: The cost to Ephonecards of every transaction is 37.5c. When a customer chooses to have a refund Ephonecards gets charged twice - first for the initial purchase and then for the subsequent refund. These costs that are directly attributable to the purchase and refund and are a result of the customer's change of mind are charged back to the customer.
"What do I do if I have a problem with my
phone card?"
Answer: Mostly your calls will be easy and
go smoothly. If you have a problem calling your location, you need
to call the customer service number in the “More Phone Card Info”
section for your phone card. They will take a look at your specific
phone card account details and call history to resolve the problem
for you. They can also explain any specific features or functions of
your phone card. Some are open all the time others are open during
business hours only.
"How do I use my phone card to make a call?"
Answer: All you do is dial the access
number for the city you are in that Ephonecards provided in your
email. After dialing the access number you are asked to enter your
PIN number. You key in your PIN on the phone's keypad and the phone
card tells you your remaining balance. Then just dial your number in
the normal way, for example 0011 62 21 789-4567.
• Interstate: Area code + Phone Number
• International: (0011) + Country Code + City Code + Phone Number
"What are the access numbers and where are
they?"
Answer: Each phone card has its own access
numbers for capital cities and major regional towns. Some also have
1800 or 1300 access numbers that you can call from anywhere. If you
are calling from a payphone, you don’t have to put any coins in to
dial a 1800 number. Always try to use a local access number rather
than 1800 or 1300 access numbers because these have an additional
per minute charge. If you are calling from rural and remote areas
use the 1300 numbers. You can also get all the access numbers for
each phone card from “More Phone Card Info-Access
Numbers” on the site.
"What sort of phones can I use with my phone
card?"
Answer: Phone cards work from nearly all
home, public or mobile touch tone phones. On very rare occasions
hotels bar the access numbers but there are generally too many to
keep up with. You can use them from your office or friend’s mobile
phone without the call being charged to them. Remember if you use a
mobile you still get charged for the call to the access number by
your mobile phone company.
"Can I use my phone card outside Australia?"
Answer: Yes. Most of the phone cards we stock are
best suited to outbound calls from Australia. Some of the phone cards can
be used outside Australia (see “More Phone Card Info”)
but the discounts are not as much as when the phone card is used in
Australia.
